…And Darn It, People Like Me!
How To: Succeed Socially - Lifehacker.com
I’ve been working for many years to branch out a little more socially and work towards fitting in a little bit more, while still maintaining my individuality. It’s been a long road with lots of highs and lots of lows, but my efforts have helped me out quite a bit. However, I still have a long ways to go - so I’m always looking for new resources.
The site linked in the article seems to be a fascinating one and the guy who writes it does admit that it is aimed more at the young/mid-twenties crowd, like me. It covers the gamut, from the basic philosophy behind the site, how to meet people, getting along, conversation starters, etc. He even has a section about socializing at an office job that is spot-on - even in Corporate India. I’m definitely going to have to devour this one and glean some good information.
Even if you are already a super-cool dude/dudette, it might be worth it to see if there is a tip or two you can get from it.
