Need To Fax? Why Not Do It For Free?

In today’s fast-paced digital world, one would think fax machines would become relics of a by-gone era. However, even with the increased proliferation of e-mail and e-commerce, faxes are still used in a variety of scenarios - both personal and business.

Unfortunately, for the most part, costs for faxes haven’t dropped significantly. It still costs about $1.99 a page to fax something at FedexKinko - not to mention the cost of gas/time to go over and do it. There are internet faxing solutions, but unless one does a lot of faxing, it can often be overkill.

If you need to send the occasional fax for personal stuff/non-business related things - you can save a little scratch by using FaxZero.com . They allow you to upload a DOC or PDF file that consists of up to 3 pages for free. The only catch is that the cover page contains advertisements - so it might not be a good idea to fax your resume that way. If you want to ditch the ads, you can pay $1.99 for up to 15 pages anywhere in the US/Canada - not a bad price, plus you don’t have to hike over to the nearest fax machine and hope it works.
